– PROLOGUE –
He is asleep and after days of nothing…the dream returns.
He is dressed not in his usual yellow and black, but black and red. His face adorned with a mask unlike that he’s previously worn. He’s astride a hover-cycle as it tears down a ramp in an arena packed with cheering fans. Behind him, on hover-cycles of their own, is the entire roster. Following him. Their newly appointed leader down the ramp towards a jump. A jump that leads them into a thick black mist.
As he nears the jump, a small nagging hits him in his gut. “Is this the right thing? Am I doing the right thing?”
Yes. Yes I am, he thinks and hits the throttle, turning it full out as he approaches the ramp.
In seconds he’s airborne.
And deeper sleep overtakes him and he succumbs once again to the darkness.
