CARD #2122.69 – BETRAYAL – 12.14.2122

From Deimos Intergalactic Arena, Mars

– GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT – ROUND ONE –
Havoc vs. Scimitar
Havoc defeated Scimitar with a FALLEN DREAMS into a pinfall
Match Rating: 3.50
Match Notes: The INTERPLANETARY CHAMPION made quick work of SCIMITAR in the opening match of the tournament.

– GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT – ROUND ONE –
Tauran vs. Valour
Valour defeated Tauran with a tombstone side powerbomb into a pinfall
Match Rating: 2.00
Match Notes: A solid match between these two rivals. In the end VALOUR stood victorious.

– GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT – ROUND ONE –
Daimyo vs. American Guy
Daimyo defeated American Guy with a DQ when PHANTASY interferes in the match
Match Rating: 4.00
Match Notes: A great back and forth battle between these two young guns. This match may have gone to a five star rating if it weren’t for the interference of PHANTASY on behalf of AMERICAN GUY that lead to a DQ decision.

– GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT – ROUND ONE –
Kill Prey vs. The Betrayer
The Betrayer defeated Kill Prey with a DQ when KILL PREY lost his cool and despite the ref’s warning repeatedly slammed the ring stairs dow
Match Rating: 3.00
Match Notes: One has to wonder about the oddball tactics of THE BETRAYER. On paper he’s the weaker wrestler of this pairing and the opening minutes of the match proved that as KILL PREY was just systematically dismantling him. The turning point came when PHANTASY tried to interfere in the match and the ref, tired of her machinations, ejected her from the building, banning her for the rest of the night! THE BETRAYER was now at the lone mercy of KILL PREY who again resumed his methodical attack. And then the laughing started. THE BETRAY just simply started laughing. No matter what KILL PREY did, no matter how brutal the move, seconds after it’s completion, BETRAYER would begin laughing. This laughing both frustrated and disturbed KILL PREY (as it did those in attendance) and KILL PREY started taking more and more drastic actions to get him to stop. It was when KILL PREY repeatedly slammed the ring steps down on BETRAYER’S head that the ref stopped the match and awarded the victory to BETRAYER. It can be argued that BETRAYER is one of the best mind games players in the GWF today after seeing this match.

– GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT – ROUND ONE –
Swarm vs. Retribution
Retribution defeated Swarm with a GROUNDING THE DEMON into a submission
Match Rating: 2.50
Match Notes: The general consensus here was that SWARM heavily underestimated RETRIBUTION going into this match. SWARM made several mistakes that lost him any momentum and allowed RETRIBUTION to capitalize and get the win. After the match, SWARM shook RETRIBUTION’S hand and then turned and left the ringside area, walking right past SHE-DEVIL. Reports are that after a brief stop in the ANI-MEN locker room to gather his belongings, SWARM left the arena. Again, without SHE-DEVIL.

– GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT – ROUND ONE –
Endgame vs. Vidtek
Endgame defeated Vidtek with a DW when SULTANA slipped a foreign object to VIDTEK and the ref caught it.
Match Rating: 1.50
Match Notes: ENDGAME had dominated this match until SULTANA had attempted to interfere, costing VIDTEK the match. At the end of the match ENDGAME was clearly upset it had not gone on further.

– GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT – ROUND ONE –
Payback vs. Tricks
Tricks defeated Payback with a DQ due to brawling
Match Rating: 0.50
Match Notes: I don’t think there was an oddsmaker anywhere in the galaxy that would have said that this match between arguably the two most extreme athletes in the GWF would end in anything other than a DQ decision. It almost became a ‘one upmanship’ contest between these two to see who could take things more extreme. When PAYBACK laid TRICK on the announce table and leapt from the ring down onto him, that was the straw that broke the camel’s back and made the ref DQ PAYBACK and award the match to TRICKS.

– GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT – ROUND ONE –
Wolf vs. Anivar
Wolf defeated Anivar with a Wolf Skullcrisher into a pinfall
Match Rating: 1.00
Match Notes: The veteran WOLF, and the odds on favorite to win the who night, made short work of the youngster ANIVAR who seemed to be a bit in awe to be stepping into the ring with one of his heroes.

– GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT – QUARTER FINALS –
Havoc vs. Valour
Valour defeated Havoc with a WARRIOR’S RAGE into a pinfall
Match Rating: 1.00
Match Notes: A focused and determined VALOUR made quick work of the INTERPLANETARY CHAMPION and handed him his second loss since going into singles action.

– GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT – QUARTER FINALS –
Daimyo vs. The Betrayer
The Betrayer defeated Daimyo with a DQ when the ref spots DAIMYO’S bolo when he attempted the BOLO TRIP
Match Rating: 2.00
Match Notes: THE BETRAYER slips through on another DQ win! Talk about having luck!

– GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT – QUARTER FINALS –
Retribution vs. Endgame
Endgame defeated Retribution with an ULTIMA LEAP into a pinfall
Match Rating: 1.00
Match Notes: RETRIBUTION may have been able to capitalize on the mistakes KILL PREY made earlier, but in this match there were no mistakes made by ENDGAME. The veteran made quick work of RETRIBUTION, finishing him off with an impressive ULTIMA LEAP.

– GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT – QUARTER FINALS –
Tricks vs. Wolf
Tricks defeated Wolf with a SLEEPY TIME that lead to a submission
Match Rating: 5.00
Match Notes: In what has to be the biggest upset of the evening, TRICK was able to do the seemingly impossible and put WOLF out with his SLEEPY TIME hold! Now this did happen after TRICKS distracted the ref and VIN STRUTTER bashed WOLF on the head with his microphone. TRICKS quickly slapped on SLEEPY TIME and that was it. Many are wondering if there were some other underhanded tactics at work here, but in the ref’s eyes, it was clean victory that knocks WOLF out of the title hunt and allows TRICKS to advance.

– COMMISSIONER MASSIF’S OFFICE –
(We cut to COMMISSIONER MASSIF’S office where we see MASSIF going over some paperwork with PAIGE. Suddenly the door bursts open and ENDGAME storms in.)

ENDGAME: Massif! Something’s got to be done.

MASSIF: Whoa, Endgame, look, we’re friends, but you just can’t come barging in here like that I’m very busy!

(ENDGAME goes right up to MASSIF and gets in his face.)

ENDGAME: You’re busy?! You’re busy?! Obviously! You’d have to be busy or blind to see the travesty of justice that’s taking place out there in the ring!

MASSIF: What are you talking about?

ENDGAME: What am I talking about? Have you been watching the action out there at all?!

MASSIF: Well, truthfully the board has asked to see some of the reports on–

ENDGAME: The board?! Massif, you are the COMMISSIONER of the GWF! When there’s an event going on you need to be watching every second! The board needs paperwork, that’s why you have PAIGE here.

PAIGE: That’s exactly what I told–

ENDGAME: Shut up! Now if you had been watching you would have seen that way too many matches tonight have been decided by DQ. It’s like the Unexplored Country out there. There’s no law.

MASSIF: Well, if there’s DQ decisions being handed down, that means the refs are doing their jobs!

ENDGAME: No it does not! It means that every wrestler out there has no concept of the rules and is breaking every rule to try to win! You have THE BETRAYER in the SEMi-FINALS now and all he’s done is basically had his ass handed to him for two straight matches! Is this how you decide who’s the #1 contender? Just whomever can cheat less and not get caught.

MASSIF: Endgame, I don’t think you understand the pressure–

ENDGAME: No Massif, it’s YOU that doesn’t understand! You’ve lost control! You have turned a blind eye and now your federation has become a war zone! I mean, hell, Wolf lost his match thanks to manager interference! Wolf! Is this how tournaments were decided in the old days? I don’t remember CARTER allowing this much cheating going on! You need to do something about this Massif!

(MASSIF violently stand and slams his fists down on the desk.)

MASSIF: Fine! You want action, I’ll take action! For the rest of the night all the matches will be NO DQ and NO COUTN OUT! And furthermore, all managers are now officially banned from ringside for the rest of the evening! How’s that for action?

ENDGAME: It’s a start, but I fear it may be a case of too little too late!

(ENDGAME leaves the office and MASSIF and PAIGE watch him go. When he’s gone MASSIF clears his desk in one violent motion and sits with his head in his hands. We cut back to ringside for the next match.)

– GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT – SEMI-FINALS – NO DQS OR COUNTOUTS –
Valour vs. The Betrayer
Valour defeated The Betrayer with a VIOLENT OUTBURST into a pinfall
Match Rating: 2.50
Match Notes: It’s a good thing that managers had been banned from ringside as PHANTASY would have a hard time figuring out who to root for in this match against the two OUTLAW NATION members. In the end it took THREE VIOLENT OUTBURSTS to lay BETRAYER out long enough for VALOUR to get the win.

– GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT – SEMI-FINALS – NO DQS OR COUNTOUTS –
Endgame vs. Tricks
Tricks defeated Endgame with a SLEEPY TIME that lead to a submission
Match Rating: 4.00
Match Notes: TRICKS surprised everyone in attendance by pulling out all the stops and cleanly dominating ENDGAME in this SEMI-FINAL match! TRICKS just had ENDGAME’S number and was able to eventually slap on SLEEPY TIME to take ENDGAME out of the tournament and advance to the finals to face VALOUR!

– GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT – FINALS – NO DQS OR COUNTOUTS –
Valour vs. Tricks
Valour defeated Tricks with a WARRIOR’S RAGE into a pinfall
Match Rating: 2.50
Match Notes: At the beginning of the evening if you’d have polled thos in attendance about what the final match of the tournament would have been, I don’t think you would have had anyone come up with this combo! Yes, it was two of the GWFs younger stars who stole the spotlight this evening and put on a heck of a match to close out the tournament! VALOUR proved to be the better athlete as he used the WARRIOR’S RAGE to put out TRICKS and become the new #1 contender to the GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP. Weather or not VALOUR will be able to best MONOLITH in one on one competition is unknown, but you simply can’t deny that tonight was his night!

– NON-TITLE – COSMIC CAGE RULES MATCH –
Monolith vs. Disaster
Disaster defeated Monolith with a RAMPAGE that allowed DISASTER to escape the cage – pinfall –
Match Rating: 2.00
Match Notes: DISASTER dominated this match. MONOLITH mounted no offense whatsoever and it was over in a matter of minutes. One has to wonder if DISASTER is the man who had MONOLITH’S number or if MONOLITH simply didn’t care as it was a non-title match. At the end of the match, MONOLITH slunk out of the cage with his belt and high tailed it back up the ramp. As he was about to exit, VALOUR came out and stood in his way, smirking. After a few moments of a staredown, VALOUR stepped aside and let MONOLITH pass. He then stared out into the ring at DISASTER. The events of this evening certainly do throw an interesting light on the GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP picture! We see VALOUR and DISASTER staring at each other as we…

FADE TO BLACK.
