M3.11 – MHW Big-Time Wrestling
Card 11 – MHW Big Time Wrestling – Boston Garden, Boston, MA
Commissioner Langley was excited to host the first MHW card outside of New York City at the Boston Garden. In the Bostonian Globe the week leading up to the event, he promised big debuts from new wrestlers.
Behind the scenes, Langley is booking these cards very carefully. He wants to ensure fans see great, competitive matches between strong opponents, but he also does not want to overwhelm the crowds with the more ‘alien’ looking wrestlers. He’s focusing on more the more ‘humanoid’ members of the GWF roster, while sprinting in a few ‘aliens.’
Zulfiqar d. Murtak via “CRY NINKARAK.” ★1/2 – In Murray’s storied career, you can’t often say ‘he used his agility to out wrestle his opponent’ but that’s exactly what Murtak did here. He was close to winning a few times, but Zulfiqar was able to catch him and put him away. The fans were lukewarm on this match, not liking either man.
Cosmic Woman d. Kralla via Superwoman Punch. ★ – The crowd were not fans of Cosmic Woman but were glad she put down the ‘alien’ looking Kralla.
Black Terror d. Trent Tomorrow via DEADBOLT. ★ – Black Terror crushed the former TV Champion in his debut match and them promptly called out Endgame. “Endgame, I know you are the spear of this invasion and I will break you before it gets going!” This match is available to members of the Golden Circle.
Freedom Fighter d. Snake Healer via Live Grenade. ★1/2 – Fans are behind Freedom Fighter. He was completely embraced the storylines that Langley has provided for him and has gone all in as ‘The American Hero.’ As far as fans can tell, he’s from the US in 1965!
The Gladiators, on the other hand, have completely refused to play ball with Langley. Word is Langley wanted them to portray tough guys steelworkers who work on the sky scrapers in New York City. Not only did Siege, who is seemingly the Aethran leader at this point, let Langley know they would not be ‘playing dress-up’ he told him that the Aethrans will spend the time until their eventual departure from ‘the sinkhole known as New York’ by dominating their opponents as well as ‘laying the foundations for a takeover of Earth by the ‘Aethrans of this multiverse in the future.’ Langley doesn’t seem impressed. Or worried. And told Siege, “If you don’t play ball, you will pay the consequences.”
Castilex d. Gladiators when Sentinel covered Fist after SENTINEL SUPLEX. SQUASH – Humiliating loss here for the Aethrans. Castilex just completely trounced them. Moog and Sentinel trapped Fist and cut the ring in half. Not even interference by the Aethran Soldier at ringside could gain any momentum. It should be noted that Fist and Siege came to the ring with the Galaxian Tag Team titles but Langley made sure the announcer made it clear that the titles were meaningless and were merely play toys.
Nosfera d. Shayne via DEMON’S BREATH. ★★★1/2 – Nosfera has not missed a beat and he easily took down Shayne. After the match, Nosfera began attacking Shayne! This brought out Freedom Fighter to the cheers of the crowd! Suddenly Ghost of Skull and the Hooded Rider appeared (as chronicled on pg 22 of the handbook) and began attacking both men until security intervened.
